Simorgh, the IKIU’s team consisting of IKIU’s mechanic students, supervised by Dr. Alirezaie (a mechanic prof.), in the first round in the National Competition of Electric Automobile Design achieved the 4th place and qualified for the next round.
IKIU’s team stood in the 4th place behind Sharif University, University of Tehran, and Mashhad’s Ferdosi University teams. In this competition 89 teams from 71 universities took part. It is worth mentioning that Simorgh achieved the 3rd place in the presentation section.
Also, it is worth mentioning that the National Competition of Electric Automobile Design was planned, held, and opened by the efforts of the shahid Rezaie’s research-house of Sharif University, for the first time of its kind in Bahman of 1385 (2007, January and February). The subject of the 1385’s competition was designing and making the single-seat electric automobile which could meet some of the country’s needs in addition to the scientific attractions. These days, using the alternative energies on one hand in the perspective of the world’s automobile industry and on the other hand in the crisis of over-consuming the fossil fuels, and subsequently the air pollution in metropolises plays a crucial role, especially in using the electric energy in the country’s transportation system.
This competition was held in three rounds, including conceptual design, components design, and make and test.
